Michigan FATters

If I were to start a Saturday get-together thing where we'd play some (competitive) football or basketball, grill some chicken and veggies, and hang out, who would come? We'd meet somewhere central - a park, somebody's house with a big yard, whatever works.

I'm talking every Saturday, from roughly 2-5, or something like that.

Hey, I think it would be a lot of fun...however, I don't think I live close enough for that.

For Becky (her blog doesn't allow anonymous posts):

The advice given by your fellow bloggers is good because it highlights a *very* important point that most fitness enthusiasts overlook...

One must get fit to run!

Unfortunately, most people run to get fit, and they end up injured. Injury statistics consistently reveal that recreational runners constitute the greatest number of injured "athletes" (ankles, shins, knees, hips, low-backs, etc.)

Also, if weight-loss is your goal, then diet is still "king". There is no need to beat yourself up by pounding the pavement (or the treadmill), especially if you're not fit to run. Exercise has many benefits, but as a weight-loss tool, there are conflicting reports. One of Billy's blog links has an interesting post about this:
